Sunshine Bloggers Award

This weeks blog post is going to be a little different. I’ve been very lucky to be nominated for the Sunshine Bloggers Award, I was nominated by the lovely KirstWrites. Anyone reading this should go and check out her blog because it’s great! Definitely one of my favorite blogs to read!

When I got the email saying I got a notification from KirstWrites commenting on my blog and then read what she commented, I got so excited, I literally went and told my dad – To be honest it’s the small things like this that matter to me, to me, it’s an achievement in itself. It proves that I’m accomplishing the reason I started my blog in the first place.

When I read “Sunshine Bloggers Award”, I got kind of confused, I’d never heard of it before, so of course I Googled it, after reading a few different quotes from different bloggers, I found one.

“The Sunshine Blogger Award is given to those who are inspiring and bring sunshine into the lives of their readers and fellow bloggers”.

Knowing exactly what it is has made my day! So once again thank you to the wonderful person that nominated me, it means a lot!

Here’s how this works, I answer the questions that I have been sent (read down below), I then nominate my favorite blogs and then ask them some questions. Obviously if you are nominated you don’t have to participate, it’s just a bit of fun and a chance to get more views on your blog! 🙂

Now here are the questions that I have been asked:

How did you choose the name of your blog?

Now this is quite a weird answer, but here goes; I was going through a tough time (Being bullied on the daily), I changed my Instagram name to Myinsanewxnderland, mainly because people call me insane (Their joking, I think, yeah probably not), and so I started to post what I like, quotes about how I felt that day and pictures that related to how I felt. It was nice to know that I could take control and do what I wanted on social media without people judging me or saying horrible things. It was like my own wonderland.

 

A national newspaper wants to print one of your blog posts – which one would you choose and why?

Good question, probably this one: https://myinsanewxnderlandblog.wordpress.com/2015/10/29/a-year-on-from-pride-of-reading-my-experience/  Mainly because Pride of Reading was one of the main reasons I started this blog in the first place.

 

What was the best book you read in the last 12 months?

Tough question, most likely Girl Online by Zoe Sugg, also known as Zoella online (on YouTube). I finished reading the book a few weeks into my summer last year. It’s brilliant! One of my favorites! I fell in love with the book. Reading it, I sort of saw a comparison (minus the whole going to America, meeting a pop-star thing), the girl in the book often has trouble at school and reading it I could relate to most of it. It’s a great book! Recommend it to any teenage girls (or boys, maybe)!

 

Social media – a fantastic invention or the curse of the modern world?!

I’d say both – It’s a fantastic invention because people can connect from all around the world and make new friends. When I had no one, I’d be on Twitter, Tumblr or some other type of social media because people that I didn’t know understood what I was going through.

However, social media is also a curse because often people hide behind computer screens or phone screens to bully others, this often ruins peoples lives because even when your at home, the bullies are still with you. It’s not just bullying, I think because of technology and social media that people have forgotten how to connect with one another without technology. Someone would rather text their friend rather than going to the park or going out for coffee to talk to them (it kind of sucks).
